2 years ago a friend introduced me to a girl who wanted to sell off her Nikon F55 film camera.

It wasn’t a fantastic camera but she said she needed the money. We met at Vivo City and the camera exchanged hands for $100.

I ask her what she needed the money for, and she told me she wanted to get a new tattoo.

I stared at her for awhile in disbelieve and left.

Bought a roll of fuji velvia 50 and took some shots while on a fishing trip off changi coast with some friends. Lucky for me the Singapore Airshow 2008 was going on and I managed some fly by shots.

Unlucky for me, the batteries went flat and I didnt finish the roll.

2 years later I remembered about the camera, bought new batteries and finished the remaining film.

Informed the lab to process normally but they cross processed it instead.

Time flies fast and this is the 3rd consecutive year running that The Flashpixs Team provided our Live Photography Service for Citi Group’s Annual Appreciation Dinner.

The Appreciation Dinner never fail to entertain the guests with a myriad of performances such as fire dancing, stilt walkers other host of carnival like appearances which filled the ballroom at Conrad bustling with activities.

The highlight of the night however belongs to the 1000 Hands Performance (pictured) that flew all the way from China as well as Selina Tan 1/3 of The Dim Sum Dollies (pictured below) who hosted the event with her wit and impeccable comedic timing.

I went backpacking all over Australia for 6 weeks with a Nikon FM2 and shot a roll of Tmax 400 film before the camera shutter got stuck.

Came back to Singapore, left the roll in the fridge and only remembered abt it 7 years later…….

For the past few weeks it has been a very hectic yet a fruitful event for The Flashpixs Team. We were presented with many opportunities with The Singapore Airshow 2010, Lunar New Year festivities and Valentines’ Day.

Nevertheless we would love to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Prosperous Lunar New Year and may the year of the Tiger brings in prosperity and good fortune to all.

Shahrom & The Flashpixs Team

Bombardier, a Canadian manufacturer of state of the art aeroplanes flew half way across the world for the Singapore Airshow 2010 to showcase their new Cseries aeroplanes to the world.

They are also the Official Supporter of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games where their highly skilled engineers were given the task to design and manufacture the iconic Vancouver Torch. They brought along the Torch and The Flashpixs Team were lucky enough to be  given the task of photographing the Vancouver Torch as well as providing our Live Photography Service for the event in Singapore.

A4 Sized photo prints were immediately printed and slotted into custom-made sleeves for momentos as soon as their guests posed for our cameras.

Everyone truly enjoyed the night and be a part of the Winter Olympics right here in Sunny Singapore.

Flashpixs teamed up with the DJs and crew of Power 98 FM for their Access Party @ St James Power House and we had loads of fun. The Flashpixs Team provided our Live Photography Service for the event while the Djs and crew of Power 98 FM jazz up the party with their usual antics.

There were belly dancing performances and other myriad of fun and games. We were also snapping photos of the best dressed dude and babe who wore either red or animal stripes/prints to commemorate Lunar New Year as well as the year of the Tiger.

3 days into the New Year and The Flashpixs Team were already busy with weddings. Clifford & June engaged our Live Photography Service for their wedding luncheon at The Conrad and specifically requested for Black & White photocards to be printed for their guests who graced their wonderful event.

The couple who already has a beautiful daughter Carrieann (if you guys are wondering the 3rd name in their monogram) even surprised their guests with a few love songs that translates their journey as husband and wife.

There were no Monday blues for The Flashpixs Team as we provided our Live Photography Services for couple Wee Ming & Huilin. The weekday wedding was held at Mandarin Oriental and it was a grand affair for all the wonderful mix of foreign and local guests that came. Photocards were printed on site as soon as it was taken and everyone were also in awe as they watched the Live Projection of the slideshow from two huge screens. Guests were treated to chocolate fondue too and a roving band were also engaged to entertain the guests to their every song requests.

The Team really had a wonderful time and we love to wish Wee Ming & Huilin a long a prosperous life together.

The Flashpixs Team had one of the most busiest time in Dec with new year parties all over the island. And The American Club had one of those biggest parties sprawled upon more than 3 levels at their club at Claymore Road.

James & Melissa tied the knot on Boxing Day 2009 and The Flashpixs Team whom were still caught up amid the Christmas festivities, provided our Live Photography Service for the lovely couple.
